Where, oh where?

I've decided I'm finally ready to get a tattoo.

I know what I want.  Someone whose work I trust is going to do it.  There's just one variable.

I don't know where to put it.

The tattoo is going to be a tribute to a few very important loved ones that are no longer with me, so I want people to see it.

But, I don't want a tattoo on my arm.

I don't hate tattoos on arms, I just don't think it's what I want for me.

Theoretically, I'd like it on my shoulder or my back, but no one will see it there.

And if being able to show it off is truly important to me, I guess I'm looking at arm or leg.

Any thoughts?

  1. Hmmm. If the tattoo would have to be rather big this would be impractical, but I always pictured myself with one on the underside of my wrist (if I were to ever get one at all).

If you get it on your shoulder everyone would see it when you wear tank tops....

  2. I, too, have been toying with the idea of a tattoo...however, my placement concerns are opposite yours (I want to be able to hide it in my everyday clothes). My favorite drummer/singer has tattoos on the underside of his wrist, so that's an option. I've always been partial to the ones that are right above the ankle though, as far as visible ones go. Don't know if that helps, but there ya go!
