I wamt two Siamese cats, in memory of my grandmother & aunt who are no longer with me.
A co-worker's boyfriend is going to do the tattoo for me. And bless is heart, he listed to my random ramblings about what I wanted to come up with this:
I know it's kind of hard to see, but it's perfect & I love it...& the actual tattoo will be colored in.
Here's what I need help with: I was originally picturing the cats with wings and/or halos. But now that I've seen this, I'm torn. Do wings and/or halos make it lame? Will they mess up the image?
Please, please, please give me your honest opinion. I'm having trouble making the decision myself, & no one I've asked is giving me a serious answer...except for DJ.
I think the halos would make it clear that it's a memorial tattoo, though you'd probably still end up giving the "it's in memory of..." speech on a regular basis. I wouldn't do wings, though, that would be a lot more outlining and outlining hurts like a mo-fo. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, no wings. But, the halos might be kinda cool. I also think you'll probably end up giving the "yeah, it's in remembrance of..." speech each time, but you can quickly cure that with "I like cats with halos." ;O)

I think if you put wings and halos, it might be mistaken as a memorial for pets instead of people-other than that, I don't see why either thing would be an issue!
ReplyDeleteI say leave it how it is! It looks amazing and I love the meaning behind it. I think adding the halos and/or wings almost takes away from the sentiment and make it kind of tacky. (So sorry!) However, on the bright side, you can always start how it is and add the wings or Halo's later if you feel it's lacking. You can't go the other way though!
